Check your paycheck
Four short steps: where you work, your hours and tips, your pay stub, and a few questions. You get each check with the rule behind it, and a note to payroll if something is short.
Questions
Is my information sent anywhere?
No. The checker downloads your state's public rules and does the math in your browser. What you type is saved only in this browser so you can come back to it, and the clear button deletes it. The site counts that a check ran, with the state and the result, and nothing else. Details are on the privacy page.
What do I need?
Your pay stub and your own count of hours and tips for each week of the pay period. A rough count is fine for a first look.
How accurate is it?
It applies the published state and federal rules on file and shows its math. It cannot see local minimum wages, rules that depend on employer size, or anything not on the stub, and a few state rules, like California double time, are noted rather than calculated. Each result lists what it could not check. See how it works.
Why compare against my own hours and tips?
Because the most common problems are hours that never made it onto the stub and tips that did not cover the minimum wage. Only your own records can show those.
