Report a wrong or outdated rule
Tell us the state, which rule looks wrong, and a link to the agency page or law that says otherwise. Every state page lists the date its rules were last checked and the source for each rule, so it helps to say which one you are looking at.
A result looks wrong
First, check the limits listed for your state. City minimum wages, small-employer rates and a few other things are not in the math yet, and the result says so. If none of those apply, send us the state, the pay period length, whether you are tipped, and the numbers you entered (rounded is fine). No names or employer names needed.
Common questions
Is my gross pay supposed to include my cash tips?
Some payroll systems add reported cash tips to gross pay and then subtract them again, because you already took that money home. The checker compares wages only, so if your stub's gross includes cash tips you reported, subtract them before entering it.
My pay period does not start on the same day as my workweek.
The checker counts weeks from the pay period start date. If your employer's workweek starts on a different day, a week that crosses two pay periods may show as needing more information for overtime. That is expected; overtime for that week is judged when both stubs are in.
I work in a city with its own minimum wage.
Local minimums are not in the math yet. The state page lists the cities we know about. Until local rates are added, a result for a city with a higher minimum will understate what you are owed.
When are the apps out?
Soon. Join the list at the bottom of any page and you will get one email when they are on the App Store and Google Play.
